Leveraging her background as a creative visionary, Rana has led successful lifestyle photo shoots for hardware launches consecutively for 2015, 2016, 2017.
In 2016, Rana redefined how products would be shot, developing a cross-hardware strategy showcasing how all the Google products come together in a person's life. The results were increased brand cohesion across Google made products, as well as cost savings of 20% YOY.
Fun fact: in 2016, Rana built an in-house photo studio at Google, to serve all Retail Marketing needs. She designed and hired a 14-person team of photographers, art directors, retouchers, digi-techs, asset manager and producers. This saved Google $2M in the first year, increased confidentiality for product launches and reduced turnaround time.
Results: In-house photo studio received the Dieline award for best packaging for consumer hardware, for photography on the Made by Google products.
